This jailbreak process requires you to have 5.3 (jailbroken?) to copy 6.2.1 firmware as described by James in the first post. You shouldn't have updated the ATV before jailbreak. AFAIK this process works only when you are running 5.3. I am not sure how you can downgrade now. Maybe someone else can help you here.
